Per the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), effective May 30, 2023, Rochelle Community Hospital will continue to be recognized as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital (ASRH) within the State of Illinois. This designation assures that all stroke patients have access to rapid care.

To obtain this certification, RCH completed and sent the IDPH application along with supporting documentation to the Department. The designation remains valid for 3 years with yearly submission of required attestation documentation.

“Remaining a Certified Stroke Ready Hospital as a small rural hospital means our community can rest assured they will be in the best care during a very time-sensitive emergency.” states Janis Astle, Emergency Services Manager. RCH’s participation in the Illinois Stroke program is an example of the hospital’s continued commitment to quality stroke care in our community and the State of Illinois.
