Congratulations to Gabriela Ortiz, who is our High Performer for October! Gabriela is Medical Laboratory Specialist and has been an RCH Laboratory employee for five years.

“Gaby Ortiz always shines for our lab no matter what the situation. During our unfortunate times of Covid, the lab has moved our shifts around to accommodate the volume of testing. During this time, our second shift always seems to get the busiest for collections, send out testing and in-house testing. Gaby works the 2:30 pm-1 am shift on a normal basis. We have struggled with staffing for quite some time due to illness, quarantine requirements, employee vacancies and training of new staff and staffing for Covid collections. Gaby always steps up help during our short times. She never complains and volunteers to cover the odd shifts and extra days when needed, even when she has vacation scheduled. She always….ALWAYS does this with a smile. Gaby is always such a delight to work with. She always has a smile and something nice to say to everyone. The cheerful attitude she exhibits represents our lab all the way to our patients. During our busiest times, I see her represent our lab with outpatients, ER patients and inpatients always smiling and helpful. We are lucky to have such an inspiration to work at RCH lab.”
