Congratulations to Itzel Ortiz, who is our High Performer for December! Itzel is a Phlebotomist in the Laboratory and has 7 years of service at RCH.
Her nomination reads, “I would like to nominate Itzel Ortiz, Phlebotomy, for high performer of the month. Recently, Itzel has to deal with extreme short staffing of phlebotomists due to multiple openings. Sometimes a call off has left her as the only one on a shift. She rises above the enormous pressure and stress, and just keeps going. She always has a friendly, professional attitude and a smile. She continues to care for our patients with compassion, respect, and professionalism despite the chaos of the lab around her. I want to recognize her for fighting through the tough times. Her efforts are not unnoticed and are greatly appreciated by myself and the Lab Team as a whole.“
