Congratulations to Mary Beth Metzger, RN who is our High Performer for April! Mary Beth is a nurse in our Same Day Surgery department and has 35 years of service at RCH.
Her nomination reads, “Mary Beth excels in her service and dedication to Rochelle Community Hospital. On February 9, she reached 35 years at RCH. She is here early every day to have the Same Day Surgery unit open and ready to start. Since November, she has been the only nurse in this department and has been continuing to keep it going strong. There is never a beat missed. Her name is mentioned several times on survey cards by patients who love the care she gives to them. Mary Beth makes everyone feel like family. She has done a great job orienting a new PRN nurse. She is also mentioned many times during rounding with employees as to how helpful she is. Mary Beth helps get patients ready for surgery even if they are a patient on the floor. She shows pride and ownership in the Same Day Surgery department. She communicates with the staff when there is a change in the schedule. Mary Beth is a dedicated asset to our surgery department!”
