Important Update as of December 10:
As construction progress continues on the interior throughout the winter months, Schmeling Construction has closed the stairwell that leads to FHC & XCEL Orthopedic clinics, as well as the front entrance to Cardiac Rehab at this time. This closure is slated to last a couple of weeks, and we will post updates when they are reopened.
Patients may use the south elevator to get to the Family Healthcare Clinic and XCEL Orthopedics.
Cardiac Rehab patients are asked to check in with the Multi-Specialty Clinic to be directed on the intermediate entrance during the closure.

Rochelle Community Hospital is embarking on an exciting, multi-year facilities improvement initiative. Leading the way, starting in September 2025, is a significant expansion of our Health & Wellness Building located on the south side of our campus.
What’s Included:
This phase brings together services that were previously separated—creating a consolidated hub for:
- Cardiac rehabilitation
- Pulmonary therapy
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
All under one roof for improved coordination and patient convenience.

This renovation reflects RCH’s commitment to reinvesting in services for our community. By integrating these therapies into a centralized location, we’re enhancing access, streamlining care pathways, and reinforcing the high-quality, compassionate care we’re known for.

Week of September 11, 2025: Construction to the Health & Wellness Building began, starting with building a new entrance to the north of the stairwell, facing 3rd Street.
September 26, 2025: The process of relocating the Health & Wellness Building doors took place. Creating the alternate 3rd Street entrance to the Health & Wellness Building.
October 1, 2025: Schmeling Construction Company started the process of closing the entrance to the Health & Wellness Center from 2nd Street, officially closing that entrance. All patients and visitors will have to use the 3rd Street entrance to access the Health & Wellness Center, Family Healthcare Clinic and Multi-Specialty Clinic. Please look for the directional signage on 3rd Street to enter for parking.
Week of October 24, 2025: Steel was delivered and the expansion officially began to take shape. Every day more progress is visible, and filling in the frame, Schmeling Construction continues to work on the progress as the weather turns colder in the hopes that the roof may be completed before the season ends so that they may continue to work on the interior during the winter.
November 2025: The construction team spent the month finishing the roof and enclosing the addition with insulation in order to continue the steady progress in the interior throughout the winter months.
