RCH Foundation Sells Downtown Clinic Building
ROCHELLE, IL---December 2, 2015--The Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation has elected to sell its building located at 510 Lincoln Highway which currently houses the Rochelle Medical Group (RMG) physician practice, owned and operated by Rochelle Community Hospital. The transaction was completed on November 30. Ogle County will be the new owners.
With the consolidation of their off-campus clinics, Rochelle Community Hospital has been looking to sell the building at its downtown location for the past several months. Discussions have been underway for some time as Ogle County already has their Emergency Operations Center located in the basement of the clinic. County officials are hoping to consolidate other services offered in Rochelle to this one location. The RCH Foundation has worked hard to assure the sale reducing its selling price to assist the county in further protecting the health and safety of all residents.
“We are happy that the County will be making use of this building. The sale of the building assures the downtown Rochelle business district didn’t lose a tenant,” said Mayor Chet Olson.
Providers at the RMG clinic will remain at the current location until their move to the new medical office building currently under construction at the hospital campus on North Second Street. The new building is expected to open in spring 2016.
“We are pleased with the collaborative efforts with city and county officials in making this sale a reality. Our Foundation Board has been committed to making sure the RMG building didn’t remain empty,” said Mark Batty, Chief Executive Officer at Rochelle Community Hospital. “The fact that Ogle County services will occupy the building is a great benefit to our community.”
Kim Gouker, Ogle County Board Chairman, added, "I would also like to compliment Mayor Olson, and his tireless efforts of assisting the County and Hospital to come to terms on this purchase and sale, as well as the civic-centered commitment of Mark Batty, and the Hospital staff, to make sure their move to a new clinic did not leave a void downtown. On behalf of the County Board, we look forward to being a stakeholder in downtown Rochelle by securing our location for the Emergency Operations Center, at the same time, securing its future ability to serve the residents of Rochelle and the County."
