RCH "Angel Tree" Assists Community Action Network (CAN) with Gifts for Area Children
Rochelle Community Hospital staff hung angels on their cafeteria Christmas tree representing 26 area children, ranging in age from 3 months-15 years old that needed help to make their Christmas bright this year. Employees chose an angel from the tree, then purchased, wrapped and returned the gifts with their angel tag to the medical/surgical department. The gifts were delivered to CAN to assist with their annual shopping trip on Thursday, December 12.
Every year hospital staff are invited to decorate the doors of their departments for Christmas. In an effort to raise additional money for angel gifts, a contest was held for the best decorated door. Over the course of two weeks, employees donated their change to vote for their favorite door over the lunch hour. The Laboratory department won the door decorating contest but it was the generosity of the employees which allowed each of the 26 children to receive a $10 gift card as part of their angel gift that counts.
