Auxiliary Assists in Purchase for Hospital
The RCH Auxiliary has assisted in the purchase of a new Vein Viewer Vision Imaging System for the hospital. It is estimated that 90% of all inpatients receive IV therapy. This piece of equipment will b available housewide to nursing personnel to assist in locating a patient's vein on the first attempt. The vein viewer will have a positive impact on quality, safety, satisfaction and cost.
It features near-infared technology with an imaging penetration depth of up to 10 cm. The power source is either AC or battery powered which lasts up to three hours or 70 procedures.
Checks totaling $15,845.00 were presented to Mark Batty, Rochelle Community Hospital's Chief Executive Officer. Auxiliary fundraisers made up $10,000 and proceeds from the Auxiliary Gift Shoppe were $5,845.00.
