RCH Auxiliary Presents Healthcare Scholarships to Five Students

The recipients of this year’s five Rochelle Community Hospital Auxiliary $1,000 healthcare scholarships were recognized at the annual RCH Auxiliary Brunch on April 11, 2016.  Congratulations to all of the recipients!  They include:

Tyler Mollet

Tyler is currently on his way to receiving his bachelor’s in nursing from St. Anthony’s School of Nursing. Tyler currently works as a CNA at Rochelle Community Hospital and has been described as not only working hard to help his coworkers but also caring compassionately for patients. He has volunteered his time at local nursing homes, organizing trivia game nights and blood drives, and has spent over 200 hours volunteering at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Upon receiving his bachelor’s, Tyler hopes to pursue a doctorate degree, which he would use to help patients in neonatal intensive care units. Tyler is the son of David and Tina Mollet of Rochelle.

Julissa Lisett Quiñonez

Julissa is currently a senior at RTHS and plans on attending Quincy University in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in nursing. She recently took 3rd place in chemistry at the sectionals for WYSE team and is a recipient of the Student Recognition Merit Award. From Make a Difference Day to assisting with cleanup after the tornado struck last year, Julissa has volunteered her time both in and out of school. Julissa has been described as being a motivated individual and an analytical, reflective student who seeks out leadership and service opportunities whenever possible. Julissa intends to become a CNA through Kishwaukee College this summer and hopes to receive a degree in nursing, which she will use to help others. Julissa is the daughter of Francisco and Irma Quiñonez of Rochelle.  

Alison Berry

Alison is currently a senior at RTHS and plans on attending Kishwaukee College in the fall. While there, she intends to receive licensing in radiologic technology and an associate’s degree in science. She’s currently a member of the National Honor Society and has volunteered over 400 hours in RTHS’s Silver Service program. Alison has been described as being honest in her words, responsible in her actions, and filled with goodness toward others around her. She hopes to one day receive a bachelor’s degree in sonography, which she will use to work as an ultrasound technician in obstetrics to help those in need. Alison is the daughter of Joel and Rachel Berry of Rochelle.

Mackenzie Wolf

Mackenzie has been presented with the Ward and Mabel Miller scholarship. Mackenzie is currently a senior at Ashton Franklin Center High School. She is a first-generation college student and plans on pursuing a degree in nursing at the University of Kentucky in the fall. Mackenzie is currently certified as a nursing assistant and has certifications in CPR and food handling. She is also currently a member of the National Honor Society, 4-H, and FFA. Mackenzie has been described as taking risks in the classroom, going outside her comfort zone, and doing her work thoroughly. She intends to use her opportunity to attend college to become a nurse practitioner. Mackenzie is the daughter of Kevin and Tamera Wolf of Franklin Grove.

Abigail Baker

Abigail is currently attending Butler University in Indianapolis and has recently decided to major in speech/language pathology. During her academic career, she has volunteered at the College Mentors Program where she has helped kids from surrounding public schools learn about the importance of pursuing higher education. From volunteering her time at her local church to assisting with the park district, Abigail is an active member of her community and has been described by her mentors as being dependable, committed, and kind. Upon receiving her bachelor’s degree, Abigail plans on pursuing a master’s in Speech/Language Pathology to help people with communicative disorders. Abigail is the daughter of Gerald and Lisa Baker of Mt. Morris.
