Health Care is a Local Affair

ROCHELLE, IL—Rochelle Community Hospital is making health care a local affair by participating in a Community Health Services Needs Assessment process with the National Rural Health Resource Center in Duluth, Minnesota. In addition to the Community Health Needs Assessment survey, this process will also include the assembly of a community steering community comprised of local leaders with the task of identifying local health care needs and establishing health care priorities.

In late August, the Community Health Needs Assessment survey was sent to a random sample of homes in Rochelle and the surrounding area. The results of this survey will help Rochelle Community Hospital identify the health services needed in the community. If you have received this survey in your mailbox, your response will represent others in the community so it is very important that you complete and return the survey by September 21st.

“Having health care services available locally is crucial to the safety, health, and economic well-being of our community,” stated Mark J. Batty, Rochelle Community Hospital Chief Executive Officer.

Rochelle Community Hospital has a total of 259 employees; 187 are full-time. The hospital generates a total annual impact of $28,070,053 on the local and state economy as reported by the Illinois Hospital Association in 2014.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Kami Norland at the National Rural Health Resource Center at 1-800-997-6685, ext. 223.
