RCH Announces Spring Community Events

On Tuesday, April 3 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the RCH Cafeteria, a Pre-Diabetes Cooking Demo will be presented by Marilyn Csernus of the University of Illinois Extension Office. Learn tips and tricks for diabetes-friendly recipes and the changes you need to make today for a healthy lifestyle.
A Cancer Resources Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 14 from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.at Salt251, 531 S. 7th Street in Rochelle. This event is sponsored by the RCH Foundation’s “All About Me” program and offers a chance to learn more about the program. Enjoy a free luncheon followed by guest speaker Joan Aubele, the author of “The Dance, A Story of Love, Faith and Survival”. The Pink Heals Sauk Valley Fire Truck will be on hand as well as RCH Radiology Experts.
On Monday, May 7 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the RCH Auxiliary Room, Susan Sklar from the Alzheimer’s Association, Illinois Chapter will present “Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s: Early Detection Matters”. The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. We’ll separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears about Alzheimer’s in America. Hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others.
