RCH and KSB Open New Clinic in Ashton

ROCHELLE, IL, June 17, 2013---The new Ashton Family Health Center opened on Monday, June 17 at 320 North First Street (Highway 38) in Ashton.  Rochelle Community Hospital (RCH) and Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital (KSB) are working collaboratively to offer primary healthcare in the Ashton community from one location.

     “Ashton residents should see little change with the KSB collaboration.  Rochelle Community Hospital will continue providing the same quality care our patients have received for many years,” said Mark J. Batty, RCH Chief Executive Officer.

     Family Practice providers include Theresa Elises, M.D. and Marilyn Balch, APN, FNP-BC for RCH seeing patients on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Kurt Crowe, M.D. from KSB on Tuesday and Thursday.  Linda Estock, R.N. is the clinic’s office nurse and LouAnn McMillion will be the receptionist.

     Phone numbers will not change.  RCH patients should call 815-453-2681 to schedule an appointment and KSB patients will continue calling 815-453-1212.  Office hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

     The first medical services in Ashton were provided by Dr. Joseph L. Palumbo until Dr. William Johanson purchased the practice in 1982. Rochelle Community Hospital purchased the practice in 1992.  Now retired, Dolores Reitz, R.N. cared for Ashton residents for 60 years and current provider, Family Nurse Practitioner Marilyn Balch, has been practicing at the clinic since 2001.
