National Wear Red Day Begins Heart Healthy Month and Screenings at RCH

Employees at Rochelle Community Hospital wore red on Friday, February 1, as part of the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day.

To kick off Heart Healthy Month, the hospital will be offering free lipid profile screenings to the community on Tuesday, February 5 from 6-7 a.m. and Wednesday, February 6 from 7-8 a.m. To participate, you MUST BE FASTING 12-15 hours prior to the blood draw to be tested. Sips of water are allowed to take necessary morning medication. The blood draw will measure total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides. The screening will take place across from the lab/x-ray waiting room; look for signs. It is not necessary to register, first-come first-served.   Results will be mailed to the patient and their primary care physician. Questions can be directed to Emily Anaya at 815-561-3110.
