RCH Welcomes New Chief Nursing Officer
Rochelle Community Hospital is pleased to announce Julia Norem as their new Chief Nursing Officer. Julia began her new role on November 7.
Julia comes to RCH from Mercy Health System (formerly Rockford Health System) where she most recently worked as a Project Manager with 16 years of leadership experience in a variety of roles. She began her leadership career as Director of Clinical Services at Boone County Department of Health. Julia has also held positions at Saint Anthony College of Nursing as an Assistant Professor and the Director of Patient Care Operations for Crusader Community Health in Rockford.
“I am honored to be joining Rochelle Community Hospital. This community-based hospital has a stellar reputation of excellence in leadership, patient care, patient satisfaction and quality,” Norem said.
Julia is heavily involved in community organizations, including 20 years of service on the Belvidere Community School Board, 12 of those years serving as School Board President. She currently serves on the NIU School of Nursing Advisory Council and served on the Rock Valley College President Search committee. Julia earned both her Bachelor and Masters Degrees of Science in Nursing from NIU.
Some of Julia’s honors and awards include the Jack Packard Quality Award for her recent work with Patient Centered Medical Homes in the Rockford Health System and the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellowship for leadership development.
Julia and her husband, Dennis, reside in Rockford. They have five children; three daughters and two sons. They also have seven grandchildren that include a set of triplets.
