Michelle LaPage Named High Performer for October
Since starting in October 2014 as our Foundation and Community Events Coordinator, Michelle LaPage has hit the ground running. She took over existing events without missing a beat and created new events that have been a big success. These events often take place in the evening or on weekends, and Michelle willingly gives up time with her family to attend.
One of her most successful new events was a breakfast held on Valentine’s Day for couples married 50 years or more in our cafeteria. This was well received by the community and a total of 18 couples were the honored guests.
Michelle has also voluntarily taken the leadership role on the Wellness Team. She sends out inspirational emails each week, tracks progress for participants, and holds a variety of wellness events for the entire RCH staff. Her most recent wellness events, a fusion-water bar and a popcorn bar, were big hits with the staff. I know that Michelle puts in a lot of her personal time and effort preparing for these fun activities.
Michelle recently created and rolled out the Employee Ripple Campaign for employees to donate to the Foundation. As part of the Ripple Campaign, Michelle also implemented a new “Above and Beyond” fund allowing employees to designate money to be donated to fellow employees having hardships. She led the way for the Hospital Hustle 5K, adding chip timing this year, and then organized this year’s golf outing. She has also been moving forward with the “All About Me” program for cancer survivors.
Michelle works independently and remains professional in her interactions with staff and the public. She is great to work with and always does more than her share on any project. Michelle is an asset to RCH within the hospital and out in the community. We are lucky to have her as part of the RCH team. Congratulations, Michelle!
