Kickoff Planned for this Year’s ACS Relay For Life of Rochelle

“20 Years of Superheros”

ROCHELLE, IL---Friends, neighbors and cancer survivors are coming together to kick off the 20th Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Rochelle.  A Bowl-A-Thon kickoff will be held on Friday, March 21 at T-Byrd Lanes from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Two games and shoes are $6.50 per person with meal and drink specials.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Relay For Life.

In the spirit of this year’s Superhero theme, any child who attends the kickoff in a superhero costume will be entered into a drawing for four one-day pool passes to Spring Lake this summer.

Those who wish to form a team, volunteer to help with planning the event, or want to hear more about this year’s highlights are encouraged to attend.  Committee members will be on hand to answer any questions.

Relay For Life is an event to “Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.”  We celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer, remembers loved ones lost to the disease and rally individuals to fight back against a disease that takes too much. Teams raise funds, before and during the event, to fight cancer. Relay For Life of Rochelle will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 12:00 noon to midnight at Helms Field in Rochelle.

For more information, contact Cassandra Sendra at the American Cancer Society at 815-229-1287.
