Visiting Hours

Visitors are important to the healing process and can be good medicine for patients.  We welcome family members and friends who visit patients at Rochelle Community Hospital. Since patient care and safety are our primary concerns, our visiting hours are designed to assure that you receive appropriate rest and that there is appropriate time for the delivery of your medical care.

Our standard visiting hours may be extended or limited based on the patient's condition.


Medical - Surgical Unit

The recommended visiting hours are 11:00 a.m.- 8:30 p.m. If you have a visitor who cannot visit during these hours, contact the nursing supervisor who will discuss other arrangements with you.


Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

In order for the patient to get enough rest and receive the amount of care required for recovery, we have developed the following guidelines for visitors in ICU.

11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

When to Visit
On the half hour 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, etc.

Once an hour

5 minutes

2 people

Who May Visit

  • Immediate family. Friends may be allowed to visit under special circumstances.
  • Parents may be permitted to stay at the bedside of a young child.
  • During emergencies, the ICU nurse may not allow visitors in the unit. Any visitor who appears to be upsetting a patient will be asked to leave to prevent a negative effect on the patient's health.
  • While you are waiting to visit an ICU patient, you may stay in the waiting room on the second floor, the Meditation Room on the first floor or the Cafeteria in the basement. Please tell the nurse where you will be in case you need to be contacted.
