"Compassionate Healing" Grief Support

Meets the third Tuesday of the Month from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Auxiliary Room. Not meeting again until Spring 2017.

Providing individuals with the tools in coping with life at this difficult time in a setting of group sharing. Members will be able to understand the seven stages of grief, and they will allow each person the ability to share ways in which they are personally dealing with their loss.

Family Caregivers

Meets the first Monday of the month from 7-8 pm in the Auxiliary Room. 

Next meeting: Monday, February 6, 2017 - Our guest will be Sue Sklar from Rockford Alzheimer's Association. Join the conversation about caring for family members with dementia.

Are you caring for your spouse? your parents? Connecting with other caregivers to share experiences, information and advice can be incredibly beneficial. Led by Cathy Karrick, a local retired Registered Nurse, we invite you to join us in an informal atmosphere of caring and sharing.  Questions? Call 815-757-8429.

**NEW** A second monthly meeting in the daytime has been added. The first daytime meeting is Wednesday, February 8 from 1-2 p.m. in the RCH Auxiliary Room. The daytime meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of the month.


Group Hope

Meeting in the Health & Wellness Center Conference Room every Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Next meeting: Monday, January 16, 2017 - Rob Scholl, RCH Exercise Physiologist, is our presenter and will lead discussion on "Getting Fit for the New Year".

Connect with others who may be going through similar situations. Excellent forum for discussing problems, sharing solutions and encouraging other diabetics. Caregivers are welcome. Includes monthly newsletter.

Community Heartsaver CPR, AED & First Aid Class

Cost: $45, includes book & card (American Heart Association curriculum)
Location: RCH Training Room, lower level
All classes are on Saturdays and meet from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
2017 Class Dates, Saturdays: April 15, July 15 and October 21.

Community Heartsaver CPR Class

Cost: $40, includes book and card (American Heart Association curriculum)
Location: RCH Training Room (lower level)

All classes are on Wednesdays and meet from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
2017 Class Dates, Wednesdays:  February 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18, November 15 and December 20.


Safe Sitter Class

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $35, includes materials
Location: RCH Training Room, lower level

2017 Class Dates: Tuesday, June 27, Thursday, July 20 and Thursday, December 28.
Class will be held at the hospital in the Training room (lower level).

Young children are not always able to communicate their needs and protect themselves. That's why babysitters must be able to handle whatever situation arises and react appropriately. These classes teach boys and girls, ages 11-14, how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children.
